Mike Williner has been an air rescue helicopter pilot for 26 years and considers it his great passion. During the winter months, Williner is often called out to blast avalanches by helicopter, especially when there is fresh snow. The artificial triggering of avalanches from the air is of immense importance in the mountains, as it helps to protect transport routes, residential areas and snow sports areas.
