Christmas tree comes by helicopter
The custom of putting up a Christmas tree has also been a tradition in Zermatt for many years. A large, beautifully decorated fir tree gives the village of Zermatt a particularly Christmassy atmosphere.
Rather unusual, however, is that the tree arrives at its location by air. Every year, a magnificent, exquisite Christmas tree is felled by the foresters and then transported by helicopter to the station square, where it is subsequently decorated and even celebrated with a dedication ceremony on the 1st of Advent.
Get ready for the coming Advent season with the arrival of the Christmas tree.
