Air Zermatt is breaking new ground in CRM training. In cooperation with the Center for Aviation at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and the Center for Aviation Competence at the University of St. Gallen, Air Zermatt is bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and practical application.
The objective of crew resource management and human factors training is to establish a safety culture within teams, crews and organizations. Participants are trained in non-technical skills such as team building, communication, causes of errors, interruption of error chains, stress management, situational awareness, etc. Participants gain the necessary knowledge through the theory component and experience the human factors directly through the practical training component with the crew and team. The debriefing session establishes the connection to safety systems in their individual daily work lives.
The stated aim of CRM training is to recognize and prevent errors before it is too late. Long established in aviation, this concept is gradually gaining ground in other industries, too.
The Air Zermatt Training Center and the Lake Thun Sailing School have developed a course model that
- teaches participants about human behavior and performance, and
- allows them to put the human factors into practice through hands-on training as a team and a crew.
Recognize the value of human factors and CRM in the daily work of your team and experience human performance first hand with your team/crew.
