Member Course

Alpine Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (AHEMS) Crew Member Course including Flight Crew Emergency Survival Training.

Practicing Emergency Medical Service in the mountains can be extremely challenging. High altitude, extreme temperatures, strong winds, unpredictable weather, weight issues, limited resources and no place for mistakes.

With more than 50 years’ experience and over 50 000 helicopter rescues, we are offering to transfer our knowledge and experience with courses on a high level that prepares you for demanding rescues under extreme conditions.

The Alpine Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (AHEMS) Crew Member course is suitable for medical providers and/or rescuers who want to become crew members (medical/technical) on a HEMS/SAR helicopter.

Our AHEMS crew member course fulfils the requirements of EASA and is fully certified. The course is also compatible with the future developments of EASA and the specifications of ACRM (Aeromedical Crew Resource Management) of EHAC (European HEMS and Air Rescue Committee).

In Addition, we have fully integrated Flight Crew Emergency and Survival Training into the course and offer a unique and realistic training setting in mountain environment. You will get a profound view into mountain air rescue with exciting experiences.

After completing this course, you can claim a full instruction as a HCM (AHEMS crew member).
