Working for pioneers: Taking off with Air Zermatt

You are fascinated by helicopters, love the Valais mountains and live for helping people - whether in tourism, rescue, transportation or training. Then Air Zermatt is the right place for you.

About us

Air Zermatt AG is a pioneer in alpine air rescue and has set new international standards in over 55 years of operation. The Air Zermatt rescue service carries out around 2000 helicopter and 1000 ambulance missions every year. We also offer tourist flights as well as commercial worker and transport flights. With the Air Zermatt Training Center, the Swiss center of excellence for mountain and air rescue, we also have a wealth of experience in the field of emergency medicine and alpine rescue, which our instructors pass on to professionals and laypeople alike.

This is what we stand for

WE WILL BE THERE - Our promise since 55 years.

In 1971, two climbers had to be rescued from the north face of the Eiger. We were there. And we were the first helicopter company in the world to carry out an air rescue with a hoist. Forty years later, a mountaineer had an accident in the Himalayas at 7,000 metres. No-one had ever attempted a helicopter rescue at this extreme altitude before. But we were there.

As resourceful engineers pushed the boundaries of mountain architecture ever higher and penetrated ever more remote areas, we brought the necessary materials to the top - thousands of tonnes. And when more and more mountain enthusiasts wanted to explore the Alps from above, we opened our doors to them.

For more than 55 years, we have worked, flown, trained and pioneered, always with a clear promise: We will be there. It is a promise that we fulfil with courage, expertise, innovation and experience. And an invitation to all those who are drawn to the mountains to join us in exploring the limits of what is possible.

That's where we want to go

A lot of pioneering work has been done since 1968. We want to maintain this spirit and continue to shape the future helicopter industry with innovation.

Daniel Aufdenblatten, CEO Air Zermatt

During flight operations

Task specialists are the strong forces on the ground: they secure equipment, support the crew in the helicopter and ensure that every transport runs smoothly with precision and team spirit.

In the air

Fascination and responsibility come together here: The pilots master missions in the mountains and far beyond. Precision, courage and a passion for flying are always present.

In the dispatch center

Coordination and calm are crucial: every flight is planned, accompanied and monitored in the operations control center so that the helicopter arrives reliably when it is needed.

In the rescue service

Rapid assistance from the air and on the ground is their mission: the rescue teams carry out life-saving work with expertise, empathy and determination. Day and night, in valleys and on mountain peaks.

In the Training Center

Knowledge is passed on at the Air Zermatt Training Center: Rescue professionals share their experience with specialists from all over the world. Practical, authentic and always at the highest level.

Inside the hangar

Where safety is created: In the workshop, technicians maintain and inspect the helicopters. Carefully, down to the last detail and always with the aim of maximum safety in the air.
