Mountain landing site
LSYT Testa Grigia
PPR required
The LSYT Testa Grigia mountain landing site is limited due to the slope layout and the adjacent public viewing area (see the Air Crew Guide, sections 7.0 and 7.1 Official mountain landing site LSYT). Helicopter landing sites remain available for public use in the area of the Testa Grigia mountain landing site.
During the race weekends, a “Danger Area” will be published by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA). In addition to the Danger Area, a Prior Permission Required (PPR) rule will be necessary in order to ensure safe and effective traffic control for the mountain landing site area. Air Zermatt will be coordinating this PPR for all enquiries for the duration of the event. The executing companies/operators are themselves responsible for the flight operations carried out within the specified mountain landing site framework conditions.
Note: In order to be able to guarantee a smooth transfer process, Air Zermatt would like to point out to passengers wishing to travel with Air Zermatt that only those with full ski equipment will be transported. As flight times are heavily dependent on the weather, visitors must be in a position to descend via the slopes by ski or snowboard.
During the Matterhorn Cervino Speed Opening, pilots have the option of making a stopover on Testa Grigia during a slot booked by them and allocated to them, and to use this for commercial purposes, i.e. for passenger transport. Permits will be granted on a strictly objective basis and according to available capacity.
The landing sites "Testa Zollhaus", "Testa 1 Tal" and "Cross Border Helipad" listed in the ACG are not accessible to public air traffic!
