Air Zermatt rescuers in continuous operation
Air Zermatt has had an intense few days. Over Christmas and New Year, the rescue crews were in constant use. At times, four Air Zermatt rescue helicopters were in the air at the same time. But not only the festive season was intense. Last year, the company flew more rescues than ever before.
School of life for top young talent from Ski Valais
Mia MacMillan and Tom Tornay are the best young skiers from Valais in the JO category. Air Zermatt presented the two skiing talents of Ski Valais with a helmet in the colors of Air Zermatt. For one year, the two skiers may also bear the title "Rookie of the Year".

Happy End at Night on the Riffelhorn
On Sunday evening at a late hour, Air Zermatt in cooperation with the rescue station Zermatt rescued a 15-year-old English girl. She got lost in the Gornergrat area and could only be found after an hour-long search in deep darkness between the Riffelhorn and the Gorner glacier. The Air Zermatt crew, together with a rescue specialist, rescued the teenager from her predicament by winching her out of an extremely exposed spot.

Air Zermatt was called to several demanding rescues in the mountains over the past few days. Wind, fog and poorly accessible, exposed positions of the alpinists in distress posed a great challenge for the rescuers. In addition, many of the rescues had to be carried out during the night.

Rebekka Frieden works as a flight paramedic for Air Zermatt. She realised her dream of working in a helicopter as a flight paramedic through hard work. She is now the first woman in this position at Air Zermatt and has been flying independently in a helicopter since Easter 2022. Successful night rescue of a 14-year-old boy
In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Air Zermatt was on mission for a 14-year-old boy from Great Britain. The boy had previously become separated from his family while hiking, went off the trail and was ultimately trapped in an inaccessible rock face. The boy was rescued from the rock face using a rescue winch.
